The hammerhead sharks are a group of sharks that form the family Sphyrnidae, so named for the unusual and distinctive structure of their heads, which are flattened and laterally extended into a “hammer” shape called a cephalofoil. Most hammerhead species are placed in the genus Sphyrna, while the winghead shark is placed in its own genus, Eusphyra. Many, but not necessarily mutually exclusive, functions have been postulated for the cephalofoil, including sensory reception, manoeuvering, and prey manipulation. Hammerheads are found worldwide in warmer waters along coastlines and continental shelves. Unlike most sharks, some hammerhead species usually swim in schools during the day, becoming solitary hunters at night. Some of these schools can be found near Malpelo Island in Colombia, the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, Cocos Island off Costa Rica, near Molokai in Hawaii, and off southern and eastern Africa. Remember when you were a child, lying on your tummy on the floor, coloring book open, crayon in hand with the other crayons spilling out of the box? Can you remember the sense of peace and enjoyment you felt while you were coloring? Why not consider revisiting this favorite childhood pastime to help during those times when you find yourself feeling on edge.

Inspiring Creativity.Once the children have mastered the simplistic pages that have butterflies for them to color, there are websites with more advanced designs available for these students. Not only are the butterfly designs more detailed, some of these pages are designed such that the children can create their own background designs to complement the insect’s designs.

A peaceful, productive way for a child to pass her time is a coloring book and a package of crayons; whether in a waiting room, in the car, at school, or other places. It can be a healthy imaginative release and, for numerous parents, a much-needed respite! The net, activity booklets in dollar stores, family restaurants, or even sometimes at public libraries are sources of coloring pages, simple black and white drawings most commonly of cute cartoon characters. Coloring pages are also very popularly showing holiday ideas, pictures, and characters (such as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny), as well as biblical images, animals, educational themes, storybook themes, scenes in nature, and long retired cartoons. Even rudimentary objects have been changed over into coloring page format, like food, buildings and planes.

The vast numbers of benefits to children practicing on coloring pages simply can not be overstated from a psychological point of view. It’s important to start children on easy images so that they can experience a sense of achievement. As their coloring skill improves, they can be given more complex patterns and images to color. Giving children books and pages to color is a highly effective way to help them become better artists and writers, to enable them to concentrate better, to reduce the likelihood that they will suffer from mental problems, and to teach them important life lessons and values. Children who begin coloring at a young age will enjoy the benefits it can bestow for years to come. You can even print out some and hold a coloring competition amongst your kids or your class. It is all too common for the coloring sheets that are given out and taken home to become lost, torn, or crumpled up. Obviously such damaged coloring pages are no use for the competition anymore. Parents can be instructed to go online and print out replacement printable coloring pages. It only requires a computer, Internet connection, and a printer to come up with such a contest entry replacement.
